Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would have heard about acai smoothie bowls. They’re all the rage and with good reason!

Not only are acai smoothie bowls delicious, but they’re also jammed packed with nutrients! They are uniquely high in their amounts of antioxidants and are commonly referred to as a ‘superfruit’.

What are acai berries?

Acai is native to Brazil and grows within the Amazon. The native inhabitants have known of their benefits and used them for thousands of years. We’re just getting to know them now!

They are small fruits that are dark purple/blue in colour. They are unique in that they’re high in fat (as far as fruit are concerned) and low in sugar. In fact, they are net carb 2, perfect for the keto diet!
