23 Insanely Good Keto Desserts to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

23 Insanely Good Keto Desserts to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

The ketogenic diet is pretty much the only diet that *somewhat* encourages you to listen to your sweet tooth. Within reason, of course.

Perhaps the best part about keto desserts and fat bombs is the fact that they allow your body to stay in ketosis.

This in turn means you’re still able to lose weight even when eating these insanely delicious treats.

What Makes Keto Desserts Special?

Desserts are our go-to when we have a sweet tooth (or just need to eat our weight in ice cream and cake).

But on keto, sugar, and therefore carbs, are on serious lockdown. This makes it extremely difficult to find keto-friendly desserts to curb these sweet cravings.

Luckily, there are some amazing alternative ingredients out there that make it possible to create, and devour, desserts on the ketogenic diet.

If you’re baking, you obviously need a base of some sort, but since those are generally white or wheat flours or oats, they need to be substituted for something with less carbs.

The following are some very common and tasty alternatives to flour that you can eat while on the keto diet.

Keto flour substitutes:

  • Almond flour
  • Coconut flour
  • Ground flaxseed
  • Sesame flour

Aside from flour, perhaps the most important ingredient in desserts is sugar. Since these are keto desserts we’re talking about here, you’re going to have to use a sugar-free sweetener, but don’t worry.

There are so many options to choose from, all with different sweetness levels, that you’re bound to find one you like. I know I HATE stevia so I’m glad there are tons of other alternatives out there.

Keto sugar substitutes:

  • Erythritol
  • Monk fruit powder
  • Stevia
  • Swerve
  • Xylitol

Baking also requires several other ingredients that can still be used for keto dessert recipes, meaning no more substitutes are necessary. Some of these include:

  • Butter
  • Cream cheese
  • Coconut (flaked, shredded)
  • Ghee
  • Eggs
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Oils (coconut, olive)

As you can see, making keto desserts is entirely possible and honestly, they’re pretty damn tasty.

But as with any recipe, you need to make sure you have the perfect one.
